Policies
Weather Policy

Todd Academy Junior High will either hold
school or not due to bad weather.  There will
not be any 1 or 2-hour delays, etc.  If we
cancel school for the day, you will be notified
by phone no later than 7:00 am.  If the
weather is questionable and you have not
received a phone call, please proceed safely.  
Anyone arriving late due to weather will not
be penalized.

Emergency Policy

If there is a medical emergency during
school hours, parents will be notified
immediately and their student will be kept at
school until he or she can be picked up.  If
the medical emergency is urgent enough to
require transportation to a medical facility (i.
e. Emergency room), the student’s
immediate health will take priority and the
parent will be notified as soon as humanly
possible.

If there is a building situation or weather
emergency, the students will be kept at
school until picked up and parents notified
as soon as possible.  If the emergency
requires the students and staff vacate the
building, we will walk or transport the
students to an alternate location.  Parents
will be notified as soon as possible to pick up
students.  We will have a designated
alternate location before the start of school.

School Calendar Policy

Todd Academy Junior High will hold school
weekdays between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.  
Observed holidays, when school will not be
in session, are Thanksgiving Break,
Christmas Holidays Break, Martin Luther
King Jr. Day, Spring Break, Good Friday and
Memorial Day.  A school calendar is provided
separately and will be updated annually.  

Under some circumstances, religious
holidays may interfere with a student’s
school schedule.  These will be handled on a
case-by-case basis and should be cleared
with the Director prior to the day of
occurrence.

Absence Policy

Students or parents must call in to school at
317-525-3796 or leave an absence report on
Todd Academy Junior High’s website:  www.
toddacademyjuniorhigh.com.  After the 3rd
consecutive day of absence a doctor’s note is
required to be turned into the Director.

More than 8 days of excused absences in a
quarter or 15 days in a semester could lead
to loss of grade or loss of credit.  This is at
the discretion of the Director.

Todd Academy Junior High will give students
who have eligible absences (those following
policy) 2 days to make up work missed,
unless homework or project was assigned
prior to absence.  Then homework is due on
the due date or 1 day after student returns
to school.  If the student was hospitalized,
then the Director or the teacher will work
out an appropriate amount of time for the
work to be completed and turned it for credit.
